ADDITIONALLY

I’m sorry if I shamelessly lift your personal experiences and use them as my own in the sake of comedy for this routine, or if I allude to something you were involved with.  Also, if, in the coming months, I tell you an anecdote more than once with some embellishment and different wording, it’s probably intentional.  Sorry in advance.

No one really reads this anyhow, so I’ll just put this here.

I think I’m going to write my own comedy routine.  There’s a comedy club about ten minutes away that has a weekly open mic.  I tell stories in a humorous manner, and I could pretty easily fill 15 minutes with some anecdotes/observations.  I’ve got some stuff I’ve gathered over the past few years just floating around in my head, but I’ve never written any of it down; I think now would be an optimal time to do so.  If, once it’s written down, it doesn’t completely suck, I think I’ll go to this open mic thing in a few months and perform it.  I need some sort of real creative output; drawing Adventure Time characters on desks and playing Skinny Love sixteen times a day just isn’t doing it for me.  I think this could be good.  I’m not planning on sharing anything I’ve written with anyone until after it’s been performed; if I don’t perform it, then I’ll just never show anyone.  Simple as that.  Now, I’m not insinuating that I’m going to be able to strike gold here; it’ll probably suck, and if I do decide to perform it, I’m certain that I’ll bomb.  It’s just that there are very few things I’m more passionate about than comedy, and I just want to know whether or not I’d actually be able to pull this stuff off.  I mean, it’s an open mic; it’s not Invite Them Up, I’m not auditioning for UCB or Second City…  It’ll be cool.  Probably.  Expect nothing more on this topic until I’ve decided for certain that I’m going to do it (which isn’t actually all that likely).  So yeah, there’s that.  Stream of consciousness and whathaveyou; I’m sorry if you read through this expecting coherence.
